Stubborn

by Shoshana
(Shanghai)

I still recall the meals just after I learned where meat came from. I was only 3 or 4 years old; I shoved the food around my plate and refused to eat. My mom had a rule about staying at the table until we cleaned our plates but I cried until I was finally excused. It wasn't really because I loved animals, mostly I just thought eating an animal carcass was disgusting. Eventually, my poor mother went to the library and researched what to feed vegetarians. You would think this was a passing stage but 25 years later I still refuse to eat meat.

Hey Shoshana, amazing that you made the connection about your food at such an early age. You were lucky to have such an understanding and supportive mother. Thanks for sharing!

I became a vegetarian due to animal's pain.

by Jessica Fence

I love animals. Just love them. One year when I was 4 I was looking out the window at wild turkeys. My mom was making turkey. The thought of eating one of the turkey's family members made me cry. I've been vegetarian since, and I am 12 now. I feel like non-vegetarians don't relize that their food is dead, and that something has to DIE to b able to eat. Thats using animals for yourself, and being a selfish horrible person!! The horse slaughter is the worse!! Ps, I don't even remember the taste of meat!! - Jessica Gates Bunona Duck Leader, an animal rescue group

I am vegan now.

by Bikesh Shrestha

I read a lot about animal suffering, while extracting milk, honey and wool, so I feel great pain and I decided to be a vegan. I also read a lot about milk and curd so I wanted to be a part of veganism. I run vegan and vegetarian campaign in Nepal since 23 years and through social media since 2007. We have about 126,000 members (likes too). Here are our address.
