I am just converting to Vegetarian, for Health reasons mainly, and I love animals and want help earth

Hi, my name is Kim Heflin. I have MS, among other diseases. I hate taking all the meds they give me. I was raised a big meat eater mainly fish, family was always fishing when I was young.

In 2015 decided to eat only veggies 3 times a week. Now I want to convert to total vegetarian for serval reasons, first for health reason and second for our planet and all wonderful animals God put on earth before us. I worry about getting enough protein and keeping my bones and muscles strong to fight MS. I just hate that tofu so I won't do that at all.

I eat veggies but what can I add that is all natural protein, and being I have MS I am not suppose to have processed foods. Should I convert slowly adding another day per week of veggies or just start total vegetarian?

Any suggestions, ideas and encouragement are welcome.

Converting to Vegetarian diet

Hi Kim, I hope you're well and that your transition to a vegetarian diet is working out for you.

There are many vegetarian proteins, so you shouldn't have a problem there. I suggest that you read the "Vegetarian Protein" page. It's listed on the left side, navigation menu under "Vegetarian Health." You'll find loads on info. there. Since you're considering going 100% vegetarian, be sure to also read the "Nutrition Guide," also under the "Vegetarian Health" section.

You don't have to convert 100% immediately. Go at a pace that you're comfortable with. See the page "Tips on Converting" under the "Welcome" title. You'll get more help there.
